Giggs may be the better "premier league player" but bale is the better player. He may not have won 100 league titles or played 800 Premier league games but bale was a better football than giggs.

I'm not always a massive fan of bent but hes nailed this. Bang irwin in at rb over trent (trent needs to maintain this level for another couple of years yet although he is better than neville or zabaleta) and you've got a team lad. Bale, Henry ronaldo would give any defence in the history of football cold shivers before the game.

Single-handedly is harsh. Alonso, mascherano, Coutinho kuyt, dudek, hyypia, Torres, Suarez, finnan, Reina, Henderson, Sturridge, Luis Garcia, Agger, Arbeloa, skrtel all played with Gerrard and contributed to the collective success of the first team.

Gerrard was a player of many, many gifts. However, cup successes during his time at Liverpool, were not only down to him and him alone. He was influential in the final...don't get me wrong but that doesn't mean he single-handedly dragged like Maradona in 86'.
