its also helpful to cancel quick resume by pressing the home button on yhe controller and click “my games and apps” and just hover over games your not using and click menu

It's normal to get really hott for the Seris S. It's pumping out alot of power and graphics for such a small machine. Make sure it gets plenty of ventilation and the vents are not covered

I have an Xbox 1s and I've found out that the case itself is the problem. I removed the top and bottom and let it run for 30 minutes and never heated up. I then reassemble only the top part of the case and left the bottom off and yet it still over heated. I don't recommend standing it up and down. The air flow goes left to right. The bottom vent makes no sense at all. Cooling fans won't work. Remove entire case and it will stay cool or only put the bottom piece on without top and see if that works. Good luck

I would make sure you are not playing a resource heavy game while anything is updating in the background. Changing to energy saver mode and disabling automatic updates should stop your console from overheating. I have been playing Naraka and my console has been crashing at seemingly random intervals. After watching mostly useless videos, and reading what the internet's finest have to say, I realized that every time the ventilation crash occurred there was also a game updating. The amount of power that takes on its own generates enough heat to keep the console hot when not in use. Add that to a resource heavy title running full tilt and your Xbox will quickly go Chernobyl on ya.

Mine acts like it shuts down, but the power light is still on after just playing for 2-3 hours 🤔. Its placed in an open area and clear of dust

Guys my friend's series is keep turning off cuz of overheating and it only happens when he plays apex legends he had to rest the xbox but didnt work the mind-blowing part is that it only happens with apex legends and not other games

I have a fan facing it blowing cold air I play for like 30 mins it over heats and automatically closes my app I smell the vent of my series s and it has a weird pop corny burnt smell to it/plastic idk what to do the fans super super loud I have it in a open area I need some help plz

It's the SSD they get very hit in general. Ive never has any issues with overheating however I only play about 2 hours sometimes less and I give my console a break and turn it off let it cool down. I've done this even with my 360s and one s model I even had usb fans to blow hot air away from consoles so keeps whole area around them cool on General it really
Helps extend the lifespan wear and tear on them imo

Normally when I've been on a game for a bit then go to load Fortnite my Xbox will just instantly turn off then come back on with the ventilation info, my xbox is in a quite open area so thast cannot be the problem. Do you have any suggestions on why it would overheat when loading a game?

I sent my Xbox to Microsoft to fix a my hdmi port when I came back the Xbox randomly started shutting off before this I had no problem so I sent it back and they did nothing what kind of support is this I just want to load in a game and be able to actually help my team instead of leaving them

My console isnt hot, ive moved it to a ventalated area, opened it right up and cleaned it, cleared the cache and reset the console, it keeps shutting off and giving me an overheat error msg
