The Double Sunscreen Method ☀️

When it comes to how to mix and match sunscreen, I would make sure there are overlapping ingredients in both products. Reasons why I like the double sunscreen method: - you can never have enough sunscreen - non-tinted sunscreens are easier to apply everywhere (neck, hands, ears) - tinted sunscreens can serve as a cover-up (especially if non-tinted leaves you looking a little white) - tinted sunscreens contain iron oxide, which protects against visible light, which can worsen hyperpigmentation

I've been doing this for years and I love it! Keeps my skin safe and beautiful, hehe.

I was told from a dermatologist that when combining 2 sunscreens does not make it more potent but makes it weaker in spf because of the 2nd layer being liquid making the half life of the 1st layer happen quicker

People keep forgetting but the eyelids are super important !!! Pls use sunscreen on them too

I use this method too. Works great! Tinted sunscreens never work around my eyes, so I started doing it to get around that problem and ended up liking the look. Don’t need much foundation with this method.

Omg, this is such a good method and tip thank you. I have the exact same second sunscreen, but it's a tiny bit tan for my skin tone. So doing this will definitely help<33

I sometimes think people don't use enough sunscreen. So the double sunscreen would actually make up for it. The Cancer Council here in Australia recommends 5mL (approximately one teaspoon) for each arm, leg, body front, body back and face (including neck and ears). That equates to a total of 35mL (approximately seven teaspoons) for a full body application.

I’d love to know which sunscreens she’s using. I already do this, but love how dewy her skin looks.

Is two layers of it really necessary?

I don’t like the feeling of sunscreen so one layer already feels like a lot to me.

Try 4 layers!
1. Japanese moisturizer with protection. They are super light weight and dry very fast
2. Regular sunscreen
3. Tinted sunscreen
4. Face powder with protection. I recommend Shisheido one 😍
It may sound a lot but if you are used with regular foundation you will not feel any difference

Why didn't you put sunscreen on your eyelids though?

But can I apply layers of different sunscreens? Isn't it wrong?

One tip my dermatologist gave me once was to instead of using a foundation find a great quality tinted sunscreen and use that instead and said my skin would thank me later on down the road. And let me just say it has! I never have to worry when reapplying sunscreen because it’s gonna glide right on no problem!

I do this with two tinted sunscreens. A light and a dark. The light is too light and the dark is too orange. When I use both it comes out perfect for my skin tone.

Tinted sunscreens unfortunately never come in a shade light enough for me, they tend to look orange

My derm actually recommended the same method to protect my dark spots and I am loving it. I don’t have an issue with white cast anymore.

I live in a humid place so applying only 1 layer of these thick cream products makes me feel sticky and they produce break outs on my face😣

I do 2 layers of spf also. Not many people are mentioning this. It’s really good especially for summer time!

Is the Roche Posay tinted sunscreen you're using mineral or chemical? What brand of non-tined sunscreen are you using?

Do you wait for the first layer of sunscreen to dry before applying the second layer of tinted sunscreen?
