Do you know the different types of OXYGEN delivery methods? 🫁😮‍💨

⭐Nasal cannula → delivers O2 via 2 nasal prongs
→ NOTE: These are curved, so always be sure to tilt these DOWN into the patient’s nose!
→ Humidify if possible to avoid drying the mucous membranes

⭐Simple Face Mask → allows for some external air exchange
→ be sure to fit it to the patient’s face and tighten the strap around the back of the head

⭐Non-rebreather mask → One-way valve with reservoir!
→ gives higher concentration of O2, often used in immediate care or emergencies

⭐Venturi mask → think VERY accurate
→ most precise delivery without intubation of a patient
