Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Servings: 4
To Make Liquid Masala Paratha
Wheat Flour - 2 Cups
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Salt - 3/4 Tsp
Water
Oil - 1 Tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Chana Dal - 1 Tsp
Urad Dal - 1 Tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
Onion - 1 No.
Chopped Ginger
Green Chilli - 2 Nos
Asafoetida Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Tomato - 1 No.
Ghee
Curry Leaves
Coriander Leaves
Method:
1. Take wheat flour, turmeric powder and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
2. Gradually add water to it and prepare batter with a dropping consistency. Keep it aside.
3. Take oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, cumin seeds and mix.
4. Once the mustard seeds start splattering, add in the chopped onions, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and mix well.
5. After 2 minutes, add in salt and asafoetida powder. Mix well.
6. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook them for about 2 mins.
7. Transfer this vegetable mixture into the wheat flour batter and mix well.
8. Lastly, add in some chopped coriander leaves and mix the batter well.
9. Heat a tawa and then pour a ladle of the prepared batter on it.
10. Spread it evenly like a dosa but with some more thickness as shown in the video.
11. Apply some ghee on the edges and in the middle.
12. Once cooked on one side, flip the paratha to the other side and then cook again.
13. After the brown spots appear on both sides, remove the paratha from the pan and serve it hot with any pickle or curd by the side.
Quick and easy to do recipes are one of my favorites and this liquid paratha is exactly one of them.
Liquid paratha is an easier version of the conventional paratha. In this, we prepare the batter instantly and then make the paratha on the lines of a dosa. Just like any other normal paratha, you can have this with pickle, onion & lemon salad and curd by the side. Trust me, this is a lot less work and perfect when there are too many guests at home for lunch/dinner. Do give this a try and enjoy!
