What I like about this scene is Max's character development. He starts off with no confidence, has little to no friends except PJ and Bobby and gets ridiculed by everyone. But even though he tried to impress Roxanne on stage, he impresses everyone else and they all become pals with him.

Being born In 1990, I would argue this may be one of the most 90ish feeling animated movies of the 90s, up there with Toy Story, the lion king, etc
