I mean, they could have made Roxanne cut her hair in the CGI movie. Mona still is voiced by Roxanne's voice actor.

I've always looked at it as just being realistic. I honestly find it more believable that they would break up prior to college instead of trying to stay together during college and make it work. They're young, people break up.

Im a 90s baby so i like Roxanne but let Max be a teen and date around, find out who and what he likes. Maybe Roxanne amd Max can be best friends who always have that bit of romantic tension, or broke up but remained friends

Honestly, the romance could have just been short lived. After a few dates they could have realized they really fit together and had a mutual break up. At least that was my idea for why she hasn't shown up since that episode of HoM. Also she could have just went to a different collage for EGM.
