I can understand both of them. Max is upset because he misses Roxanne and does not want to be treated like a child anymore while Goofy is heartbroken because he wanted to bond with Max and fears that he'll end up in "the electric chair". Sometimes, these arguments remind me of my parents treating me like a kid, even at the age of 19. I can tell ya, all the arguments, all the pressure and all the frustration are somehow represented in this scene.

I grew up watching this. Goofy had no idea that he humiliated his son in front of those people. Max should have told his dad right away how he felt. My late father and I were all ways honest with each other about our feelings.

If anything, both Max and Goofy were in the wrong. Goofy didn't give Max any say before the trip, but he only wanted to bond with his son. While Max should've thought about his dad's intentions and opened up to him.

I'm only seventeen, yet I can relate to both Goofy and Max. And neither is right or wrong. On Goofy's side, you can tell that he loves his son with all his heart and tries at all cost not to have Max at "the electric chair". But it's clear he is stuck with his normal personality of being...well Goofy, and the fact that he gets stuck in the past from time to time. On Max side, trying to be the cool kid in school and trying to impress Roxanne is something every boy or girl always wants, and that is always a great feeling. But being that they are so young and so passionate at what they want to do, whenever anything unusual happens that screws up the plan, especially when a family member is part of it, obvoiusly they would get pissed off.

That is a key factor to why I love this movie.

Why are so many people getting mad at Max here? Goofy refused to talk about the phone call so he could get the full story of what Max did, he forced Max to cancel his plans, treated him like a little kid, and humiliated him in front of a crowd. Goofy may love his son, but he’s not listening to him. Max has every right to be upset.

0:51 I love how he just throws the hat at the window in rage and then opens it just to throw it out.

I can understand Max's pain and being embarrassed, but he has no right to treat his dad like garbage...Goofy, on the other hand, should've just talked to Max before dragging him to his forced vacation.

I think it's Probably the principal's fault For lying to goofy About the Electric chair

Goofy and max are both my favorite characters, and I can see goofy loves max unconditionally, but at the same time goofy has to learn to respect his son's boundaries🫤

As Max can be quite a jerk he had the right to be upset with his dad because he got dragged to Lester’s Possum Park that’s full of little kids and being humiliated by his dad in front of everyone, can you blame him for this?

Yes! I love ❤ Goofy and Max! They're awesome! They're my favorite Disney father and son duo! This is one of my favorite Disney movies! This scene was so sad to me! Max was angry at his own dad! I felt bad for Goofy! He looked and felt so sad and heartbroken 💔 😢 😞 😔 😪 😭!

I love how Max is so angry at Goofy that when he tries to throw his hat out of the car, he doesn’t realise that the car window is up, so then he begins to roll the window down in another attempt to throw his hat out of the car while he continues to rant in front at Goofy.

Hats off to the animators for that little subtle comedic moment during this sad scene. 😂

It would've been cool for Disney to make a sequel series where Max has kids. Then we could see Max follow the same patterns as Goofy, and his kid(s) turning down their nose at him.

I feel bad for both of them. Max, because he was humiliated and he just wanted to be with the love of his life again, and Goofy, because he fears losing his son and just wanted to have some time with him again.

I understand both Goofy and Max in this scene💔Goofy only wanted Max to be in safe hands but he needs to wake up and realize that Max is not a little boy anymore but on the other hand him and Max are not very good at showing emotions. Watch from Max’ side of the story he only wanted to impress the girl from school and being popular🔎Goofy did arrange that trip without consulting with Max when he was not there. I would also be mad if someone was setting up a trip without asking me first but in my sight both Goofy and Max needs therapy
