So I've destroyed ∞ Terraria demon altars, in 1.4.4 ─ What would happen..?

Demon Altars are something that'll going to everlast: It never changed after Terraria 1.1, and it has been sitting there for ages... Except that, Terraria 1.4.4 update actually made some change to that thing: Well, technically, the altar didn't change at all, so we could say that it's still unchanged..? Anyway, this change is welcoming enough, so you should check it by yourself!

I can see echo painted altars being used to add both ambient lighting and make an indestructible barrier for custom worlds that also makes it so you cannot place blocks on the ground

The reason the wraiths can't reach you is because they don't actually fly, so they can't go much higher than the distance they levitate off the ground.

Tbh i personally liked the old altar infection effect. It felt extremely insideous of the Corruption/ Crimson and Hallow, a retaliation to try and outpace the player.

But i understand the patch. Same applies to jungle destruction being removed, personally that added very real stakes and motivation to fight the infection off.

I heard someone said that this feature is still technically on FTW as it generates random patches when WoF dies, but I'm now a FTW player. Can anyone verify?
