This was a special one. My first few minutes in a genuine sports car.

The car's a Series 2 - Lotus Elise. Mid-engine, manual gearbox, enough power to have fun and the kind of communication you dream about. Hope you enjoy this one, I certainly did.

That noise from him when you said "you could never drive this everyday". You know he does.

I've been following your journey since summer 2023 and I have to give it to you, you always manage to find new topics to talk about or new video ideas in general. Your content is always interesting and I hope you don't stop producing it! Thanks!

You've just added a car to the summit of my pyramid of cars I want to progressively own and master. Hope I get there eventually

Haha, drove a Lotus Elise for the first time 1 year ago. Sold my Alpine and got one right away, these things are different from anything else and you can't get it until you drive one.
That's awesome that you filmed this "first time" moment. Try to get behind the wheel of a 111r !

Glad you enjoyed your time in the Lotus. A hint to help you build confidence, think back to your videos and comments on weight transfer. A crest is a vertical bend, therefore you might want to think about keeping the car level through weight transfer. Slow to the apex and accelerate out to flatten the curvature. Keep on enjoying your driving.

I hope the owner warned you before you drove it that this experience will ruin every other car you are ever going to drive.

Not having to actually go super fast to have the best time, that's what I loved when I got a miata a decade ago! miss this thing. I can only imagine how great that felt with a lotus ha

Absolutely! Get in feet first. The 2zz with a Larini GT2 exhaust on the 2nd cam sounds like an F1 Cosworth. You must go above 8000 RPM where the power is. Worry not for the brakes, the car is so light they work perfectly. The car is designed such as 9/10th is easy and exhilarating. No assist on the steering, just the feel of the road. Just think where you want to go and it does. To get out first put your butt far back on the sill, then swing you legs out last. Let's you know everything else called a Sports Car isn't. Lotus: For the Drivers.

Mick I love your videos mann...
You give a lot of practical/real world advise.
I want to see more videos like this and can you please make a tutorial series too; where you explain what is money shifting and how to heel toe, etc.

Thanks for making these
