I was an officer in a city that several presidents came to visit. Every rooftop in miles either had secret service on it or had two officers at the roof top access to keep people from accessing any roofs anywhere near the presidents. The protection team came weeks in advance and worked with local departments to survey every building or roof that would have a direct line of sight to anywhere the president was going to be during his visit. What happened here?

Absolutely right. The fact that a 20 year old with no training fired a rifle within 150 meters of a former President/presidential candidate. The fact that the roof was "outside the security perimeter" is an complete and utter BS excuse. We would NEVER NOT have such a location not covered by uniformed local law enforcement.

Why is nobody talking about how obvious it is that the Secret Service didn’t have a drone in the air doing surveillance of this entire area in which case they would’ve seen anyone crawling across the roof
