One of the most horrific execution methods which is the electric chair, and many criminals inside of America went to their deaths on it. The first woman to be executed on the electric chair was Martha M Place, she was a woman who could be considered troubled as she suffered following an accident she had at the age of 23. But she married her second husband William Place and she moved in with him to his home in Brooklyn, but she became intensely jealous of William's 17 year old daughter Ida.

One evening William came home, and he was attacked by Martha with an axe however when the police entered the home, they found that she had killed William's daughter. Martha was brought to trial and following this she was sentenced to death and was to be executed on the electric chair. She is known in History as the first woman to be executed on the device, and the executioners had to come up with a special way of performing the execution.

The execution wasn't horrific for Ms Plaice, who died immediately, but for the execution team and witnesses. Seeing someone die so violently isn't somerhing you would easily forget or be at peace about.

When Martha threatened to kill Mr. Place's daughter, he should have acted then either divorcing Martha or some act to protect his daughter. In a way he is responsible for her death and not acting on the threats made by Martha. Very sad outcome for all involved!

Since we are going all electric now for so much of power and transportation all in for the rebirth of the electric chair. If I was running first governor on a law and order platform....my motto would look be "a volt for every vote". Our cities need a good clean up.
