Carmen, in my humble opinion, is another reference to Lolita. In the book, Humbert talks about the record that his Lolita would listen to around that house. In the song it would talk of this girl named Carmen and by the end of the book it was one of his many nicknames for the little girl. The French only adds to my assessment because Humbert is from France and teaches Lolita how to speak French.
