I have used my Kobalt table saw long enough now to give an honest review of it. I got it to use on some remodeling projects and found it useful for a lot more.

It comes with a fence and miter gauge and some safety equipment of which I really only use the fence. Watch some upgrades including a router table that doubles and a table extension. Also see how the saw riser has held up after a lot of use. It works but not like new. I have disassembled it enough to clean the spindles and worm gear but it only kept it functional and didn’t resolve the sticking.

With an upgraded blade and some jigs this saw can be an effective saw for a small hobbyist, contractor, person only cutting sheet goods, or that doesn’t plan to use harder woods that can be rough on equipment. As I show it will cut old oak but it sure doesn’t like it.

It has the ability to do micro adjustments to help with the angle stop at 90 degrees but that can get built up with dust and need to be cleared to keep it within tolerance. Also the sliding top that makes it able to do wider fence cuts can start to drift the older the saw gets and the more dust build up there is.

It only has a small 2.5” dust port so it’s hard to collect the dust. If you have air filtration and a shop vac it helps but doesn’t eliminate the dust that it gives off. This is one thing that shows it’s a jobsite saw. I’ve used it in several different places to do work and I do find it a easy traveling saw. Add in my slide in router table and it’s a note effective tool. Kobalt need to make an accessory slide in extensio that can have a plunge router put into it and use the stock fence.

After two plus years of using it I am happy with the performance for what I spent. It’s a good solution for a person starting into building a selection of tools to start on.
