This is so cool to see people being IMMEDIATLY more friendly and less shy once they speak your language

I always love when you break out the Fujianese to people who are already enjoying the fact that your Mandarin is so good. Their reactions are always priceless and this was one of the best ones yet.

Could you imagine this?...A prank channel that's actually wholesome, instead of a complete fake garbage.
Loved the video, brought a huge smile in my face, keep it up.

I like how they assume he is a foreigner and probably doesn’t speak the language but they don’t say nasty things.

This is the only channel I know of that has "bait and switch" hilarity with zero toxicity.

I hope your channel grows and prospers.

My husband has a tattoo with the name “white dragon” on it because that was the nickname they gave him when he studied medicine in China for 6 months. He double and tripled checked with his Chinese friends that the characters actual meant the correct thing.

Reminds me of 50 years ago when I was teaching conversational English in Japan. I spoke little Japanese, but my boss was fluent. One day he accompanied me to a shipyard where I taught. Some of the students got there early and started gossiping about us. He was translating their comments for me, then when the session started, he stood up and addressed them in Japanese - a few red faces.

It makes me smile to just see people of different cultures getting along. No reason for so much hate. Everyone is trying to make a living and keep it moving.

I just LOVE this! My dad spoke fluent Japanese. He learned while he was stationed in Japan when he was in the army. When I was younger, we'd go to Japanese restaurants, and he would speak to the staff. They used to get the biggest smile on their faces when he would launch in to ordering and asking them about their families. He was Scandinavian and had a crew cut so they never suspected that he knew how to speak their language.

The girl at the mall was so adorable, she didn't even think to gossip but instead right went out to try and tell you what the word on the sweater said in case you thought it meant something else, trying to make sure you don't get mocked or anything. Sweet woman.

I think that one store where the people were talking like: "his shirt says foreigner... Should we tell him?" And they actually told you. Those were the only genuinely nice ones. Because they were behaving nice and proper to you BEFORE you showed them that you could understand them.

This right here is the reason why I'd love to learn a new language. Having that instant positive connection with a stranger just because you speak their native tongue brings out much purer form of joy between humans. Life is great after all!

This was soooo wholesome and I love how literally everyone immediately said “oh no, nothing, it’s great!” When you asked what was wrong with ‘foreigner’ haha

What’s great to see is watching people become so much more expressive. without the burden of having to translate their thoughts and the potential embarrassment of saying the wrong thing in English, their personalities shine through. I can’t stop watching lol
