1 John 3:19-24, 'This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.'

I know life gets tuff but it’s been super hard. I trust in you Lord Jesus but I’m losing hope. Please hear my prayers Lord Jesus. I’m constantly faced with financial hardships and can barely support my children. I’m a single mom. My husband passed years ago. Both of my sons are special needs and are on the spectrum. I’m overwhelmed at times. My boys require so much from me. Since covid I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined because I suffer from heart disease and I also have lupus. Since losing my job I’ve been struggling to support my children. I’m now waitressing and I’m grateful but I’m not making nearly enough. JESUS HELP me. I’m CRYING OUT TO YOU. I’m tired! Struggling to buy groceries. Struggling to pay rent. Struggling to pay for babysitters. It hasn’t been easy. But I know Father God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. I know all things are possible through Jesus. I WILL KEEP FAITH. No matter how hard life gets. FAITH OVER FEAR! I believe Lord I’m waiting on a miracle! ❤ 0:34

I’ve been on a spiritual hunt for truth regarding the law ever since a randomly fell on a video about being Torah observant... And many of those who are make great arguments with biblical proof, but as I continue to journey, a few days ago I started asking what are the commands of Jesus? I started to look in to it and it’s really easy to find over 40 commands.

As I await confirmation within my beliefs from the Holy Spirit, I truly am leaning towards what Jesus taught in the NT.

He fullfilled the Torah, and yes He himself practiced Torah.

But the law was created to point out sin and even though the definition of sin biblically is “lawlessness”, Christ fullfilled it.

He is now the one in charge and yes he is One with the Father.

But now we have His own commands and if we confess Christ, and we follow him, then what comes from His mouth is what we follow; and what he says is from the Father.

In fact I would say His commandments are elevated and possibly tougher to keep but thanks be to God for His grace and mercy.

We are not to keep them perfectly but to create a lifetime of striving to be obedient to the best of our broken abilities.

This was a good video and enjoyed some of the content. It confirms more of my own findings.

Good video. There's a few small problems, like CARM (overall a pretty good/reliable site) saying one of the commands Jesus gave is to "judge not" when in FACT Jesus COMMANDS His followers TO judge (Jn. 7:24), but overall really good. The counsel on the Sabbath was spot on and I REALLY loved the segment on what it means to be saved and what it doesn't mean. How it happens and how it doesn't.

The command to reconcile and restore is a HUGE command that is GREATLY ignored. I've had countless self-professing Christians make false accusations and bear false witness against me (See Pro. 6:16-19) and when I quote them Matt. 5:23-24 and Jn. 4:23-24 to them I get a LOL and "haha". Oh that what Dr. Brown says there would be said from the pulpit more often!!

Appreciate this topic . DR Brown can you assist me in line with this topic on the commandments of Jesus . How do you explain what John stated and some churches identifies themselves as the remnant church . Please help.
Revelation 12: 19

He saw the War in Heaven, Satan's continuation of that war against the Church established by Jesus Christ in the meridian of time, and Satan's war against all mortals who keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus.

Matthew 19 :16 And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” 17 And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” 18 He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, 19 Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Also see Roman’s 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, ” “You shall not murder, ” “You shall not steal, ” “You shall not covet, ”[a] and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

You gain salvation through grace and you maintain holiness by repentance and keeping his commandments. We are called to be holy and to be perfect after we gain salvation. We must strive and if we sincerely fall short we can repent, and try again. To accomplish this without the Holy Spirit is impossible. Read Matthew 19 in its entirety. Do not neglect the fact that to love God is the actions of following his first four commandments (you can extrapolate this by reading Romans 13) and loving your neighbor is done by keeping the last six.

Otherwise you are lawless and a sinner if you make a practice of sinning.

1 John 3:9 James Bible
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Well, since you asked, I’ll tell you. The commandments of Jesus are found in Deuteronomy 5. In Deuteronomy 6:5 Jesus tells us through Moses why we should keep His commandments, it is because we love Him. This is exactly what Jesus reiterated in the New Testament. The principles of the Ten Commandments are the foundation of the whole Bible.

I thought his speaking about lust in the heart was to show that, even if we’re not committing adultery physically, we are committing adultery in our heart. He was showing that nobody is without sin. How do I follow a command like, “do not lust?”—like, I’m supposed to not even have a fleeting moment of lust? ideally, that’d be great if possible! Of course I very much want to seek his on going cleansing and changing of my heart while being thankful for his salvation and his grace, but I don’t think “do not lust “ was his command in this particular case—It doesn’t seem to fit contextually. Dr. Brown’s point of loving, and following Jesus, and denying ourselves and loving others with his help and as much as we can is right on.

Making an argument from silence doesnt nullify the commandment. We are grafted into the nation and should obey the laws

What covenants is Paul telling the Ephesians that they have been brought nigh to after having been strangers of them ?

I hear some Christian Jews say they keep the sabbath only when they travel and are in the state of Israel but while here in the states or other countries they don’t keep the sabbath but Sunday. The Bible clearly says that if you decide to choose to follow Jesus Christ ( Israelite, Jew or gentile ) no matter where you are in the world We are obligated to keep all his commandments. Especially the Ten Commandments that he wrote with his own finger. Grace is a pardon; we don’t deserve to be pardon ( forgiven, given a second, a third…chance, opportunity for redemption), but because He loves us He extends His grace ( pardon) .

Was the Sabbath day a commandment of God? Then yes, there is scripture pertaining to sabbath keeping. Scripture tells us the saints, the set apart ones, keep His commandments.

Revelation 14:12 NKJV - Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments(entole) of God and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 12:17 NKJV - And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments (entole)of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The reason that neither Jesus or His disciples gave a direct command for Gentile converts to observe the Sabbath is because it was assumed, there was no Jew or convert protesting the observance of the Sabbath.
