The best part is this 100% makes me think the stories of krakens weren’t just made up but actual accounts that over time became more and more mythical. Some guys comes into town from the coasts of Norway saying they saw a squid the size of four men then overtime becomes a creature the size of a castle that destroys ships. It makes you wonder what if mythical creatures really did exist in some form before.

I feel like we don’t appreciate just how alien sea life is, simply because what we know of it has been around for a while. Things like squids and jellyfish are so otherworldly that if you’d never seen or heard of them, and someone described them to you, you’d have to think they weren’t real.
