Eric was my varsity coach for a year. One of the best swimmers and coaches I've met.

I swam the 100-meter backstroke yesterday at my swim meet and I did really well in it! I came in 4th place with a time of 2:00.10
After doing it yesterday I really love the backstroke! 😊🏊
I hope to get faster at it! 😊

His shoulders on the recovery are catching a lot of water! Other than that I wish I could swim like this! I’ll take 3:24 of the video over 2:51.

how about when the water gets in the nose?

I'm surprised by the improper technique, how much faster would he be if he didn't swing from side-to-side creating that wobble he swims with. Lots of wasted movement. Shoulders are sitting too low in the water on the recovery as well...

isn't his right arm crossing over the middle?

A little outdated. You could tell by the toes on the start

Ignore this fool's first 57 seconds.

what they said was spot on but what the swimmer is actually doing in the video is wrong, his arms are over rotating, going almost past the centerline and past the centerline on some occasions, def not the Y he was saying. When his hands go in, he's not in the immediate catch position. And lastly his head is moving with his arms which is not correct, it needs to be still. All that being said, I'm not sure I could do much better.
