Criminal charges have been dropped against Alec Baldwin over a fatal on-set shooting, according to his lawyers.

The Emmy-award winning actor was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter over the shooting during the filming of Rust in New Mexico.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed by a live bullet fired from a prop gun that was being used by Baldwin in October 2021.

The development comes less than two weeks before a trial was set to begin.

If the armorer isn't charged then it's a travesty. It's easy to tell if the round is blank or live.

A whole lot of negligence and incompetence was going on there and people died because of it.

Involuntary Manslaughter exists, means you still get charged for accidental deaths.

Must be nice to have money. I'm being falsely accused and will probably be charged bc I'm poor. Otherwise my charge's too would be dropped. Seems so unfair

Human Error, it was no one’s fault. Stop trying to blame someone for it. I don’t understand why everyone’s always got to blame someone.

He still lost a civil case against him by her husband.

Why was he charged to begin with? It’s not like he knew.

Baldwin should never have been criminally charged.

He should have been jailed for what he did….

I hope the family of the dead woman take out a private prosecution again Baldwin and take him for millions

How can you charge someone with manslaughter, who had no Idea his prop, was loaded and had no motive! They just wanted to have access to a movie star in court and on TV. A waist of tax payers founds.

He should have never been charged in the first place. The armorer on the other hand. You had one

I saw an early interview with the armorer. This was only her second film as armorer. She was 24 years old and the daughter of a famous person. She honestly did not seem to have the knowledge for such an important position.

Everyone is forgetting that is the person that is in charge of the live vs cold props. Of course, there will be more reports against the star, the big name. Just look at the comments here.

*_“The person in charge of overseeing the gun props, known as the armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, could not be reached for comment. The 24-year-old is the daughter of veteran armorer Thell Reed and had recently completed her first film as the head armorer for the movie “The Old Way, ” with Clint Howard and Nicolas Cage.”_*

No I didn't commit involuntary manslaughter officer. I had it on good authority that the knife I used was rubber and the firearm was loaded with blanks.

There are rules, and then there are rules for people with money.

I get the feeling if it was a member of their family who’d been shot, people’s comments would be a lot different!

It’s outrageous there’s no charges. There’s quite a few that should apply.

I want to be very clear here, is Alex Baldwin a good guy? Probably not but is this his fault? No

He's just the actor and for some reason was handed a gun with live ammo, which he had no way of knowing. The armorer needs to be sentenced

- Of course the charges were dropped, they were absurd. He was always pro gun-regulation, not a gun-nut. Moreover, he was NOT responsible for the props, that's what the props-MASTERS are for, the same with weapons, that's what the ARMORERS are for. Actors are NOT ALLOWED to "inspect" the weapons, because that's TAMPERING. Duh. 🙄 Sooo many people talking out of their low-altitude orifices about stuff they have no idea about. 😒

- Why does the media keep calling her a "rising start"? 🤨 For one thing, she was 42, not exactly young, and second, her filmography wasn't exactly dense with big blockbusters and Oscar-noms. I can only assume the media kept saying "rising start" to try to get people to feel more sympathy (because I guess the media thinks only famous people deserve sympathy 😒), and try to make them more angry towards Alec. 🤔
