In this video we are replacing the motor in a Stihl HT 133. The motor blew out due to probably dirt build up.

The process is pretty simple believe it or not. No specialty tools needed, just what is mentioned in the video. The point of this video is that it was a lot simpler than I thought it would be

That was pretty courageous for you to attempt that replacement having never done it before. And I'm glad it worked out well for you when it was all done.

I have this model. How do you remove the throttle rod? I need to clean the carb on it and am having a difficult time removing it.

I happily would have watched that teardown reinstall at regular speed.

Dear Bear if you had to do it over again would you buy the HT133? The reason I ask is that I want a good quality pole saw and my previous one was cheaply made from sears that was not reliable. I live in a heavily wooded area on 5 acres. What makes me hesitate is looking at the Stihl site reviews on the HT133 and I see 11 great reviews and six 1 star Reviews. Any help or advice you can give me I would appreciate it. Also of note, I am having a hard time finding this model at my dealer. I am in Glastonbury, CT.. Thanks again. Joseph

Bear I apologize but I misspoke about the eleven 5 star Reviews and Six 1 star reviews. I was looking at various pole saws and I got confused. I believe the correct number was 57 - 5 star reviews and I believe 27 - 1 star reviews. I just wanted to know your opinion was before I sent $650.00. I also understand nothing is 100% in life but I know Stihl stands behind their equipment, as I own a trimmer FS 56 FS and a hedge Trimmer HS 82 R and I have had no trouble with either models. Thank again for your time. Joseph
