Hi Sweet Friends, Today I am answering some questions that I get often...what is the difference between broth, stock, and bone broth...and how do you make them... So I am answering all those questions today! And if I have left anything out - or you have more questions - please leave them here in the comments. I'm happy to help! Love, Mary

Thanks Mary. You really cleared my confusion. In my ignorance, I had actually been drinking stock rather than bone broth for leaky gut.

Thank you soo much for this! With 4 little ones, schooling them and trying to eat well with traditional cooking along with gardening and preserving, you have made my life a little simpler! I don't feel so overwhelmed about making broth, stock and bone broth anymore!!! Now, to get my bones/meat ready!
God Bless!

Such a simplified explanation of the differences that I could understand. The visuals were especially helpful for me also! Thank you!

Holy Moly!! 20+ other YT videos speaking the same words and I never understood the difference. That final ending...where you cleared that bone broth is just longer cooked stock...I literally had a Eureka moment understanding everything.
Thanks a lot for this dedicated video. I'm sleeping peacefully tonight ✨👌💝.

I never knew that there was different types, I thought it was just called stock. I only use chicken or turkey bones only I have roasted the meat for Sunday roast and I use the bones to make stock and with this stock I use it to make soup. Thank you for sharing, take care keep safe and God Bless. Ashwina

Thank you for explaining these. A regular internet search just claimed they're the same and that just didn't sound right.

Just watched a video on making stock. He insisted stock is bones, broth is meat, then proceeded to throw in full chicken legs along with neck, etc. and called that stock. Never showed what he considered suitable for broth. I was mystified by what he meant by "stock is bones." You have mercifully cleared it up completely, & I suppose he was actually making bone broth (except no, he didn't simmer for 12 hours.🥴). I don't know why it was bugging me so much, but I wanted to be clear on the terms. *Thank you!*

Hi Mary, I am so thankful for the bone broth videos you are sharing. I am sharing them with a friend that had her pancreas removed several months ago and is having issues absorbing nutrients, so I am hoping she will try some bone broth that I am making and taking to her. I am just now learning from you to make it. Thank You for all that you share and I want you to know you are helping and encouraging so many people. Hugs and love to you. Connie

Thank You Mary! :)
I just wasted a lot of time trying to get a definitive answer on this from the google machine, and this was precisely what I was looking for all along :)

Bone broth is the best! But sometimes I do make a broth when I am throwing together a soup. Love you!

Hi Mary! You probably won't even see this comment since this video is 2 years old, and I understand when you are as big as you have become.. but I'm going to make my comment anyway..

I am a subscriber and have watched and saved volumes of your videos.. and every single one is great and valuable.. but I just have to say that you just don't seem real..

You seem perfect. You never make mistakes, unlike the rest of us, and when I watch your videos, it reminds me of something like watching "The Brady Bunch" or any show like that..

You are a throwback to those times of old, and I like it! Whether you are truly real, or a made up "YouTube persona", I love your videos and look forward to many more!

Wow I just started watching you recently and didn’t realize you were from nyc! Just made a simple soup for lunch with store coconut bone broth and leftover chicken and noodles.. I’m learning.. need to get my instant pot

Thanks for the information! From descriptions of bone broth elsewhere, it did sound like bone broth was just a long simmered stock like you mentioned but I didn't see it outright said any place. Thank you for clearing that up!

I make bone broth all the time and I get beautiful gelatin stock along with tallow. However you said not to use vinegar but wine. Why? you never explained. I use apple cider vinegar and it works great. We don't drink so I'm not keen on buying wine just for this. could you explain further?

Well... Now I guess we will have to make sure we use the right terminology... No more getting by on saying one and meaning all :) Great video.. You are a great teacher.. and so darn sweet too.
