As someone who’s been training parkour for 8 years and is new to skating, the years of stretching and balance training has helped me immensely with quickly getting comfortable on the board.
Being able to bail anything safely is also a huge bonus as it makes everything so much less scary. :)

Yes! I recommend doing some sort of weight training along with skateboarding because it will strengthen your bones and tendons which will in turn lessen the chances of getting injured if you take a slam!

The push up one is actually super great advice, just started skating about 3 months ago, first week in I broke my right wrist by landing on it poorly and getting a permanent plate and 10 screws, even with this I still continue to skate and am very dedicated, as soon as I can fully bend my wrist push-ups are a must. (Wish I would’ve seen this sooner)

Dynamic stretches before skating. Static stretches after skating. If you have massages gun or able to afford one. It’s life saver

Stretch your wrists and ankles as well! You’ll be surprised by how tight they are and it’ll prevent injury

A local did this eeevery day he came to the Park. I never understood why hes doing all the balancing and stretching stuff because he was already the best skater in town and could easily beat everyone in a row in a game of skate the second he entered the Park. Without warm ups and stuff. But then i talked to him and he explained it to me. This makes sooo much sense if you think about it. RIP Oliver

I'm sure the push ups actually work, because I do it daily even beforw skating and now that I've started skating too, it reduces most of the pressure on your body when u fall or get hurt becaise your body has gotten stronger, u won't feel any pain in your arms when u fall, ur corw will become stronger and it will be a whole lot easier for u to land tricks

I remember hearing that stretching acutely hinders your performance and it’s better to just ride around before a hard session.
