As a neet aspirant I can confirm that physics really helped us to get used of depression, anxiety and disappointment and frustration 🙂

1. Optics in ophthalmology
2. Hemodynamics and Heart physiology
3. Nerve conduction physiology
4. Any concept dealing with pressures and volumes (body fluids calculation, respiration)
5. Stress and strain concepts employed in many orthopedic treatments
6. Basic understanding about anesthetic equipment

We come across physics in many forms across our MBBS course. Physics is a subject which basically tries to understand how nature works, and the most amazing and complicated thing nature produced is the human body ❤.

I am still waiting for those 5 things 😂😂

The physics required in MBBS is really really basic, and no where close to the traumatic chapters we had in classes 11 and 12. 🙏🏼

For those who didn't understand it she means that physics doesn't have much importance in medical College we only have to focus on biology 😂

You will need basic physics in studying ophthalmology

Clearly this person has to see from a different perspective.

Here are my 5 reasons:

1. With optics, you will be able to be familiar with most optical defects. To understand near point and far point, you need to know how lenses work.

2. With fluid dynamics, you will learn how blood vessels and blood flow work. Even understanding Bernoulli's principle will help you appreciate some aspects of immune action by macrophages.

3. Doppler effect helps you with understanding how ultrasound imaging works. For this you need to know the basics of how mechanical waves work.

4. The concepts of resonance and magnetism, and Bohr's atomic theory will help you appreciate the working of an MRI.

5. By understanding the basics of radioactive substances that emit x rays and gamma rays, you will understand the significance of radiopharmaceuticals in understanding body metabolism and also radiation based treatment methods. I mean, without understanding how X rays work and how they get attenuated based on exposure to different substances (like air, fatty tissue and bone), you would not be able to appreciate radiography.

If any, even if you don't find direct application, learning physics helps you with developing your critical thinking skills and gives you the right mindset that will help you tackle any medical subject.

Hope this helps. 😊

Physics teaches us to be patient in life which is very important for a doctor to learn patience and handle the toughest situations in a stable manner

Human Physiology is based on different Laws of Physics..Like
1.Fluid mechanics, Turbulence or laminar flow, Reynolds no., Pascal's law, Formula of resistance and radius will help to understand different parameters of blood flow.
2. Laplace law will help to understand relation b/w lung surfactant and alveoli.
3.In ECG, 3 leads are actually making kirchoff's circuit, understanding of kirchoff's law Is important there.
4. In ophthalmology, a little bit understanding of refraction from optics will help though it is totally different from physics which is taught in 11-12..still it's imp.

*Air Flow rate "poisuelle's law ",
*Venturi mask "Bernoulli principle"
*Surfactant surface tension
*And Many devices n instruments works with principle of physics
* Sound mechanism in ear (TM, ear ossicles, area)
* Radio devices
* Eye( refractive index, power calucaltion IOL)
*Orthopedics works with application of physics....so on..but can do all this without knowing all these bcz we use only 30 % of theory in our daily clinical practice..that's what I feel 😅

All instruments used in surgery are made by using physics and you use them 🙂

I think physics really helps in medical science like setting joules in defibrillator for chest shock or CPR and also in Physiology surgery like elbows Legs like the medical surgery instruments and also Physis is applied in ECG machine for setting up the graphs 😊

without Optical fibres and Lasers there is No Operations nd surgeries
without physics there is No universe 💯💯

u will believe me or not, , I am in 1st year mbbs, and physics is definitely a playing a good role in various concepts of physiology starting from blood pressure, transport, ecg, respiratory mechanisms

Formation of polyp +inspiratory stridor= Bernoulli's theorem
Ophtha refraction= Basic optics
Physiology of blood circulation= fluid dynamics
Coup & contrecoup = Newton's law of motion
Radiology=Modern Physics
I think she wanted to write this in 1. 2 . 3. 4. 5.

physics needs spontaneity and logic...so it helps us to develop them which are very important for a doctor... personally I feel that

1. Blood pressure mechanism and how u check them
2. The contraction of muscles through electrical signals
3. Acoustics of your ear
4. Vision mechanism
5. Temperature control in the body
