I was in NOLA last October and I've found that the people there were some of the nicest people around and the food was beyond amazing. For those planning to go, my piece of advice is to explore outside the French Quarter. Go find local dives for just as amazing food without the tourist trap prices.

Cafe beignet’s beignets we’re delicious when I last went. Hot, fluffy, light. I went to cafe du monde also and was disappointed. They were a lot denser than what I was expecting. Also cafe beignet has an iced mocha that is amazing

Im from New Orleans. Beignet's are delicious, but PLEASE do not wait in those long lines during peak season at Cafe Du Monde. There are other locations that sell just as good beignets. Also, R.I.P to Ms. Loretta, she passed away only a month ago.

I am just a the start of the video, but i wanna say, that i love the aspect of seeing american food culture together with a bit of where it comes from etc. as an european person.
The first thing that i usually connect with american food is Burgers and overall unhealthy fast food, and i love the introduction of special foods and places in america, even tho i will never probably be able to come and eat them myself.
So thank you for that!

When it comes to beignets, Belgium has this beautiful, crispy on the outside, soft inside, that is only served at fairs and town fetivals called a "croustillon". The recipe seems rather easy, and if you ever want to try, please do, these are just great. I've been obsessed with those since I moved to Belgium seven years ago, and I just can't have enough of them!! T^T

I made these today with the amylase enzyme I bought off of Amazon. They are so freaking tender and delicious! Good God.. Thanks as always Joshua. 👌🏾

I wanna go home now (I’m from New Orleans, and Loretta’s and Cafe Du Monde are the BEST!)

To all that don’t know: Worcester sauce in the UK can just be abbreviated to Wooster sauce (pronounced as ‘Wuster sauce’). We know what you mean

I live pretty close to a Cafe du monde, and having a beignet for breakfast just makes a day better

P.S. if you're ever back here in NOLA, I'd love to go to a book signing or something like that.

My first experience at Cafe du Monde….the wait lines for these was .insane. and it was so HhhhAhT outside
They were kinda worth it but the powdered sugar was EVERYWHERE! If you breathed mid-bite, your esophagus would be filled with grit and laughing about it made it harder to breathe 💀

Ever since I saw the movie 'Chef', I have always wanted to go to Cafe du Monde (irrespective of how they taste), and now Loretta's is also now on my list.. I still haven't gone there, some day for sure, but I now have a good beignet thanks to you! 🖤🖤

I just learned the hard way back in October that if you sit at Cafe Du Monde and get table service, you get fresh beinets, which are a different beast than the walk-up window ones (highly disappointing).

The savory version you made is very similar to something we make down the bayou called a pistolette. It's basically the fried dough in more of a roll shape, and it's filled like a donut afterwards with crab and cheese or a thick crawfish etouffee filling. So good.
