Salmon, seafood in general, was the very last thing I ever gave up when going vegan. It was so difficult because it has always been my favorite...so I am STOKED to try this!!

I made this recipes many times and it is one of my favourites ! Some things: I suggest not to put too much starch on the nori sheet so you can see the « skin ». Also, I made it with medium tofu and the texture was identical to salmon’s and the colour was almost through and through. Happy that you have discovered it !

Made this for the first time on Valentine’s Day. It was absolutely amazing! I’ve missed salmon since I’ve been vegan and this is a great replacement! Crazy that we can make something so similar to salmon (and other mock meats) from plants. Vegans are so creative!

I aready made her recipe several times and it´s good. It´s best when you let it marinate over night.

I love this recipe and have made it using 1 teaspoon beet powder, because then I always have the ingredients to make it in the house. I added a little caper brine too and marinated overnight. I love your addition of kelp powder.

Love these videos of recipe tests because you show that it's ok to tweak the recipe, use what you have, etc.

I really like the chopstick technique and using nori and kelp powder.
I like to use smoked hickory concentrate a lot, it should work here for those who like a little smoke.
BBQ beet is awesome and would work here well.
Beet powder is easier to use if you’re just wanting color.
Mix a pinch with water, squeeze of orange, aromatic bitters and ice for a quick easy Mocktail (I call them chillers).
(The bitters of course is alcohol but it’s like adding vanilla, it’s a few drops of flavor bomb, not intoxicating.)

This does look amazing, I used to love salmon... I would personally pre-freeze the tofu and also add some olive oil and/or flaxseed oil to the marinade, salmon is an oily fish after all. Also gives you that omega3 😚 Another idea is to actually cook it in the marinade to make the colour penetrate further into the tofu.

If you don't have kelp powder you can add powdered nori.

Italia Plant Based AKA The Plant Based School AKA Chef Nico has a great vegan fish recipe with a baked tofu. You should try it, it’s super delicious!

Hi Rose! Great video! I really appreciate how chill and authentic you are in your videos, including when you experiment with recipes. Anyway, I'm not sure if you're familiar with the channel Health Origins here on YT. A lot of the recipes there also seem doable. It might be fun to try out her version of vegan ham (maybe the one without okara). If you use gram flour, it'll probably be like an updated/upgraded version of the chickpea tofu you did some time ago. Her vegan creme brulee might also be nice to try. Anyway, stay awesome and keep well!

The best part of your channel is you just " Have at it " with new recipes. Camera rolling. It's always cool to see you cook recipes for the first time.
Looking forward to trying this recipe. >;-) (Edit) I want you to know I have worked with A lot of Chefs over the years. They and I could not do a channel the way you do. You really are worthy of a Red Seal !!! Thank you for all that you do for the Culinary and Vegan World Chef Rose !!! Rock 'n' Roll
