At first I thought that if the bike had a decompression mechanism that decompression mechanism was stuck open a little ways, but didn't know that the valves being set wrong slightly would make such a huge impact on its compression, as a 2 stroke guy I'm glad to learn this about 4 strokes

I've watched about 20 plus videos and have learned something from each video. The troubleshooting and diagnosis are on point. KEEP DOING YOUR THING I SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL.

Vinny is amazing! Once again he diagnosed the issue on first sight. If you recall, the first thing he did after seeing the bike was to take a couple of dumps. He was indicating that the exhaust system, and specifically the valves on the exhaust side, were okay. But he did NOT eat or drink anything, indicating that the intake valves were closed or too tight. He blows my mind how accurate he is with his diagnoses! Was he born in a shop, descending from a long line of mechanics’ dogs? 🔧🐶

I'm starting to see a re-occurring theme in all these videos, it appears most people have no idea how to adjust valves or don't seem to know thats a thing they need to do lol.
Love these videos, learned soo much from them!

There's an inexpensive tool for removing the caps that you've been using a screwdriver and hammer to remove. The tool has 4 different size ends and doesn't require the use of a hammer. It will leave no marks on the caps.

top quality mechanicing .. the result speaks volumes well done . I was 1980 Donnington GT championship champion one liter class.my hillman imp based engine was overhead cam and the cam clearances were a regular adjustment .. for optimum performance . i assembled a decent set of shims to achieve the correct clearances .

Enjoyed your talking through the logic of each step. I work on my own bikes, but i also help friends and am always up for learning more efficient troubleshooting.

I like the sound of this one, my kind of bike. Your videos are great. It seems like I’ve watched you grow up on YouTube I’m 59 so I can say that stuff. I mean it in a positive way. Keep the videos coming. God bless you and your family.

First video of yours I watched. Very impressed. Great camera angles, and not boring or drawn on like some others. Very happy to actually see the bike ride after!! Subscribed instantly!

Awesome find for such a simple fix. She's is loud, but sounds like a true thumper at idle.

I had the same bike! I polished the frame brake and kick start along with swing arm and it looked so sick.

Amazed about how you are able to tackle any problem with those bikes again and again. But practice makes perfect I guess.

The dog taking a dump at the beginning was funny! Lool! Nice find on this. They can be a money pit if stuff goes wrong.

I have flipped more bikes that I got cheap just because someone didn't have wires connected or valves adjusted. It truly amazes me.

I had a nearly identical 2007 YZF strong cool looking bike 👍 I think the looks with black and white for a yammie was neat!

Love my yzf, I used to ride a ktm sx-f and thought it was the best bike ever made til I started riding the yamaha. yzf has the best power curve of all and by far the best handling and most bulletproof. Best 4 stroke 250 ever made in my opinion. This bike, with new forks and top end rebuilt, will outlive most of us I bet..

Just got a 1980 KX 80 in the shop. Immaculate bike, no compression. Top end shot, 1/2 " hole in piston ringsin pieces, new one on me. I'll get her fixed tomorrow. I have a new top end on shelf already. Got last year for that old popper.
