How to use Inspect Element to improve your design reviews! 🔍

Using Inspect Element to look at code in a browser will help you give better feedback when you're reviewing the build of a page you designed. This makes your feedback more specific, and can improve your relationship with the developer by speaking a bit more of their language.

Awesome video as always. I really love the new focus on Developer and Designer collaboration and relationship. Your last two videos have really helped prove my points to my designer friends on the importance of understanding and speaking the same language that Devs do.

For folks who really don't want to use inspect Element or go near any code (you really should though, it's fun!), I would really suggest looking at VisBug. It's a Chrome Extension built by Google that allows you to visually make changes to web pages (so things like, margin, padding, etc can be done from there).

Personally, I rarely use VisBug these days and use the Inspect Element. But I thought it would be nice to mention VisBug as it really helped me in my early days.

Inspect helps a great deal when I am mocking up changes to web apps so our developers can see what I want the end result should look like. New fields in reports, criteria fields, drop downs, etc.

Can't believe no one made a better version of Inspect after so many years. I really hate it although it is very useful
