Ukrainians 'not giving up' on Mariupol but need 'more heavy weapons'

Ukrainian MP Halyna Yanchenko is calling for more heavy weapons from the country's "western allies" as they try to hold off Russian forces from capturing the city of Mariupol.

Ms Yanchenko said Ukrainian officials are still committed to helping “both civilians and the military” in the region.

"Now the aim of Ukrainian government officials is to evacuate as many civilians from the Eastern part of the country as possible," Ms Yanchenko told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

The Ukrainian MP said the country is still “doing quite good” with the weapons and resources they have been provided with but need more to “liberate the east and south of Ukraine".

“In order to liberate Mariupol and finally give a chance for life and a safe future to those civilians now in Mariupol, we definitely need more heavy weapons.”

She seems to know about how and what weapons they need to fight but as for her knowledge of the harm n suffering to people apparently are happening she never asked for any humanitarian aid. The chechens are in mariupol and are slowly but surely clearing out the steel mill, where mostly azov militia is trying to defend its position...whatever is left of the city itself has been in greatest part taken under the ruskis control...two ruskis calls for a surrender have been issued to the azov, but the ukers military chiefs won’t allow it...azov might also have a problem with this proposition...they weren’t exactly humanitarians in the past 8 years in donbass...
