Helloooo everybody,

Today, I share my first impressions of a natural DIY Turmeric face mask.

It's been said that a Turmeric, Yoghurt and Honey mask has a whole range of benefits including, brighter glowing skin, remove dark spots and scars, reduce redness and inflammation and even remove tan.

It's also supposedly used for turmeric hair removal, turmeric tea for weight loss...

But today, i'm concentrating on the 'instant glow' you supposedly get from a turmeric mask. Will it give me glowing clear skin in 20 minuets?
I'll share my before and after pictures !

Here in India (at least in Kerala) there's a different turmeric for cosmetic uses. That's the one you should be using instead of the cooking turmeric.

You should use wild turmeric...called kasturi turmeric....that is what we use on face...with chickpea flour and honey and rosewater. Still small amount...1/2 teaspoon for 5 tablespoons of chickpea flour. You can use yogurt too...but it will stain more. But definitely the type of turmeric matters. It also smells more ayurvedic compared to the spice version. Also dont use it on your beard, it has hair removing (very slowly) properties

For me it took more than a month. It removed my yellow-brown spots. Made my skin more bright. I used it with honey only. Im white so im very happy and in love with this mask.

! DIY masks are so fun !
A tip would be to use less turmeric, whether ingesting or applying it topically. It's really strong and stains easily so use maybe 1/4th of tsp or even less with the same amount of honey and yogurt, it'll work better.
You can ingest it by mixing 1/4th of tsp in a glass of warm milk (dairy or otherwise) and some honey in the morning or in the night (or both).
Other 'detox drinks' call for too much turmeric and don't taste very good, so putting it in your milk is more tolerable.
Thanks for the video ! Have a great day !

Having extremely sensitive and acne prone skin, this actually one of that only masks I'm able to do. As most ppl in the comment section have said, you would achieve better results using raw and organic turmeric. As for the residue, one of the easiest way to remove it using a foaming face wash and some luke warm water, and massage the face wash for a couple of minutes. Majority of the times this does get everything off and if you still feel the yellow stain, some toner would get it off.

As for whether this works or not: from my personal experience, yes it does, it helps with my acne scars, help to heal them a bit faster, makes my skin softer and helps to reduce the inflammations, and general tan. However it requires consistency, just like any other products needs to be applied on a regular basis to see notable difference

I tried a turmeric mask in my teenage years once : I mixed honey with turmeric (and nothing else) and after washing it off my face was not just a little stained... it was bright yellow/orange 😂 I had to rub vigorously with a wash cloth to get rid of it 😅 I never had the courage to ever try turmeric ever again

Have a nice evening ☺️

Turmeric is very good to apply along with milk.. Although it left behind yellow tinth but it 's not that visible in Indian skin, as much of people has yellow tinth skin ..

Please do more home-made natural skincare like this!! I'm more into this kind of skincare and the trend now is indeed natural/organic.

Hey Jame, there was a time when I used this turmeric mask, consistently (like twice a week) for a period of time, and it helped diminish the appearance of pores and dark spots and hyperpigmentation. I stopped using it because it's messy and time consuming but it worked just fine.

Soak a cotton pad in milk to remove the stains. For me I never notice the results straight after, it's usually when I wake up the next day. I use turmeric, chickpea flour and honey and when I do it 2 days in a row, on the 3rd day I notice a huge difference. My skin looks SO much clearer but I'm starting off with bad skin. Also I use it every 2 weeks or so depending on how my skin is looking.

Hi James. I'm very very late, but anyway, here goes. I'm pretty tan skinned, so for me the staining was not really an issue. Moreover, we use the turmeric known as "kasturi" turmeric (not sure of the English word, sorry!) which smells nicer and doesn't stain as much. Let the mask sit for about 10 to 15 minutes, 20 is a bit much. And the follow up with your usual skin care. Another thing that helped was aloe vera gel, which was also great to fade pigment acne scars.

Turmeric does brighten your skin, makes it smooth and removes any blemishes from your skin. I usually don’t get rid of the yellow stain and leave it. The next morning you can notice the difference.

But you need to use wild turmeric to see the results not the ones used for cooking. In every Indian household women apply turmeric. We also do a ceremony before the wedding called Haldi ceremony where the entire family comes home and applies turmeric, sandalwood on you face, hands, legs. They do this for 7 to 10 days before the wedding. Also we apply turmeric paste on our bodies and take shower. I noticed that after the haldi ceremony the next day when I woke up I could see the difference on my skin. We also mix in chickpea powder, mix it with boiled and smashed carrot and apply it on our faces

I recently started using tumeric to help with my acne and scars, I use it mixed with rose water and leave it on my face until it dries and then with a little more rose water I use it as an exfoliator and proceed to rinse it off. It does stain my skin but it comes off after I steam my face. I love it so far!!
Every time I want to add something into my skincare you always seem to read my mind because you always have the videos I'm looking for!!❤️
