Have You Seen Hoarders?

My dad's house was filled with stuff. He wasn't a hoarder though, because his stuff was actually fairly valuable. Still, there were rooms with boxes stacked to the ceiling. There was also a pile of broken furniture that completely blocked a hallway. And giant piles of wood outside. And we did end up throwing away like an entire dumpster full of garbage when I helped him move out. Huh, I guess he was kind of a hoarder.

Yeah... my mom is a hoarder and I live with her right now. I'm cramped in my room with my stuff while she takes up the rest of the house. Now thankfully it's not a s bad as this show, but still bad. It triggers my anxiety and there are days where I just snap and my mom get very nasty with her, only to feel awful in the end. This month I have put my foot down and started to clean house for her and well... it's rough. There are times we argue during cleaning, but it's a slow process and it's getting done. Plus it seems that deep down she appreciates me sticking around and helping her out.

I was just catching up with this on netflix like a few months ago. Just like with behind the music and the like it all plays out the same. The worst though is how it demonstrates a lack of mental care in our country considering how many of them lapse at the end of the episode...which I think is all of them.
The roughest one was watching a estrange daughter be insulted for the entire episode by her brother and mother who had a vendetta against her ever since she called in a wellness check only to have them consider her "dead to them" and then go right back to collecting trash because like all of them, are not required to keep up with counseling appointments and then lapse.

Ah yes, Hoarders. There's one episode where this lady was actually hoarding her own feces. I'm not kidding either and the house had to be condemned since they eventually deemed it unsalvageable since it was a giant biohazard. Fun episode ^^
