If Darkseid knows of cosmic beings from other realities like Galactus and the Silver Surfer ( they actually battled when Galactus tried to eat Apokalips), it's safe to say he knows of someone like Lucifer.

For people wanting to see who's stronger in general.
Luicifer is usually around the 3 strongest DC characters ever. Usually placing in 2nd or 3rd place only behind God and Gods replacement (although some could argue some other gods but usually popular opinion is this) he is half of God's strength (half of omnipotence) and is able to leave God's creation or essentially leave DC.
Darkseid is strong however he is no where near the same scale. It's like comparing an ant to a god.

Darkseid got flattend by both Anti-Monitor and Trigon on separate occasions. Lucifer could effortlessly demolish both Trigon and Anti-Monitor in a 2 v 1. And that's understating how powerful he is.
