In this video, I answer the question: can dairy affect hormones? Or not?

Let’s take a look at what milk is. It’s designed to feed a growing calf, and it’s loaded with different hormones, primarily estrogen. The types of estrogen are estradiol and estrone. Milk also contains IGF which, along with estrogen, is a growth hormone.

The hormones in milk can target the prostate, breast, uterus, and ovary. When I was in practice, I found a high correlation of women who came in with fibroids and them consuming a lot of dairy: milk, cream, sour cream, half and half, cream cheese, cheese, yogurt, and butter. The fattier the dairy, the more hormones.

I’m not against dairy, but some people are already estrogen dominant. They have hormonal imbalances and may have prostate enlargement. They have cysts in their breasts, presenting as fibrocystic breasts. They may have a problem with their uterus, such as endometriosis, which is when there is extra tissue growth around the uterus. Or they may even have cysts on their ovaries, or else polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a condition in which your androgens are too high, caused by cysts triggering the androgen hormone.

If you have any of these conditions, you definitely need to put dairy to the side for a while.

Everyone needs to realize that these hormones in dairy can create an effect on the body. To minimize the damage, definitely go for organic, grass-fed products. At least with organic, you know the animals haven’t been fed GMO-type feed. But if you’re consuming commercial milk, you’re definitely getting exposed to GMO feed.

I personally consume a small amount of cheese every day, and I make sure it’s both organic and grass-fed. I also consume a lot of cruciferous food. If you also consume cruciferous vegetables, you’ll get an anti-estrogenic effect. In other words, they’ll help clean up excess estrogen in your body.

Lastly, I would always tell my patients to try this experiment: for one week, completely give up dairy and see how you feel. A certain percentage would do very well. Others would feel no difference. This may give you a few clues to determine whether you’re sensitive to dairy or not.

And now you know the answer to the question, can dairy affect hormones?

Great video....Im 68 and have had heath problems including 2 heart attacks ...weight issues....elevated blood sugar ....some arthritis.
I'll never be 20 again but I have have followed Dr Berg for over 2 years now with very positive results. I ditched cows milk and cut way back on cheese after my 2nd attack and don't miss it all.
I use grass fed butter now instead of margarine and have a small amount of cheese. Stomach issues disappeared in a improved over doctor has eliminated some meds and greatly reduced others.
Great aren't cattle we dont need it.

Dairy gives me cystic acne. Haven't had any in 3.5 years. They put that crap in everything. Have to read every label. I would never put that in my body again. My life is so much better since I quit dairy.

Also addgressive fermenting of dairy will help. I ferment 2-3 days adding jockstrap mollases and raisins. When all the sugar has turned to lactic acid and the Casine to cheese, like what happens in a baby's stomach=less trouble digesting. Raisins are also linked to raising testosterone and molasses adds minerals to the already mineral right milk. Plus milk sugar, molasses, and sugar in raisins feed a much higher microbe population in the resulting dairy products.

I only use grass fed goat milk too.

With packaged heated milk from the grocery store, I had several problems; mucilage, acne, digestive problems etc.
Fresh raw milk from the organic farmer, free range (grass and hayfeeding); Zero negative reactions, on the contrary, super digestive, no dry skin, stronger fingernails plus better eyesight (carotene?).
