Yo, I had this EXACT problem; SUPER glad you made this video documenting your repair. Really gave me the confidence to do it myself and save the extra cash and get it all done in one night. Cheers!

Why didn’t you take the old solder off, and then solder the nut onto the underside of the leg. Then you would be able to adjust the height of the pickup once you put it back in the guitar?

Great to see how the spring and screw work (I was looking for that on YouTube, not many explain this) ... but sad that the string-to-pickup adjustment was not discussed. Apparently that's done by holding down a string, and adjusting height of the pickup with the spring screws, so the pickup is closer to the string. I am learning how to do all this and the video DID help (need to fix loose pickups on a cheap second hand guitar). Thanks.

What if my pick up is like, completely floppy? Like both the middle screws are off and I just leave it there? Does it make a difference on sound? What are the cons?

I just solder a piece of sheet metal to pickup tab with a new threaded hole
