Sub Saharan African women living in Tunisia often struggle to be accepted. Racism is common, many migrants find it hard to find a job and if they do, they are often badly treated. Our correspondents report.

A Few isolated incidents. A few people exploited this to get a free plane ticket home and claimed to be scared so they can go home under the pretence of repatriation. They were willing to slender the Tunisian people and damage their economy for a free ticket. A "nation wide crackdown" but not one injury or even a cellphonefootage. The truth is that the current president studied law and is definitely not a racist. He was refering to a new movement, the idea that Africa is a black continent and how the motherland should be reclaimed, and the ideaology?IT EXIST. Its not a conspiracy its real. People judge this president for sacking 69 judges, but they dont live in a society were being a terrorist or have commited violence against women you get send of with a slap on the wrist, but teens that get caught with a joint get send to prison for 15 years. You dont judge. I as a Dutch Tunisian applaud both his effort to protect the progressive foundation stones layed by Bourghiba aswell as his efforts to protect the Tunisian borders from misery.

The disguised slavery in Tunisia is embarrassing and uncomfortable to observe. I know that the life must be better than what some of these women have escaped from, and I am glad that this lady is making a success. Inspiring. Middle class and wealthy people, not always Tunisian, but many expats, feel that they need maids and 'slaves' to boost their image. It is very rare that they are cared for and respected. It needs to change.
