Discussing different understandings of leadership in general and especially in Africa, Agnes Atim Apea introduces the challenges and possibilities for female leaders in Sub-Saharan Africa. Posing the question how the effectiveness of (female) leadership may be measured, Apea describes her own “leadership journey” and talks about influence factors and her aim to maintain rural communities’ cultural identity through successful leadership. Dr Agnes Atim Apea is a social entrepreneur and founder of the Hope Development Initiative from Uganda. Dr Apea’s talk was recorded a at the “Transcultural Leadership Summit 2017: Learning about Sub-Saharan Africa” which took place in Friedrichshafen, Germany, on November 16th/17th, 2017.
