Challenges to women’s empowerment in Sub-Saharan Africa and GrOW’s role

GrOW Program Officers, Paul Okwi and Flaubert Mbiekop discuss the main challenges to women’s economic empowerment in sub-Saharan Africa and the role that IDRC’s GrOW program can play in addressing these challenges.

The GrOW program supports research that generates new evidence on women’s economic empowerment, gender equality, and economic growth in low-income countries. GrOW is a multi-funder partnership with the UK's Department for International Development, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and Canada's International Development Research Centre.
