Hi Adobe: Can we have a simple video tutorial from an advanced graphic designer on how to use the pen with Adobe illustrator?

Adobe apps are really not optimized for windows tablets. When in touch mode, I often have to switch back to desktop mode because a lot of tools are not available there. And working in desktop mode when I have to draw something is just a pain because I can't use my keyboard shortcuts. It's just getting really annoying. I wish I got a regular laptop and a Wacom instead. I'm sure I'll end up getting and Ipad when I have the money.

Might want to try working together on fixing that illustrator in portrait mode (stays in landscape mode regardless of screen orientation)

Surface Pro 7, Illustrator CC user here. Whenever my hand rests on the screen while the brush tool is in use, Illustrator starts using my wrist as an input and starts painting even though the Surface Pen is not being used and I'm just panning around with two fingers/resting my hand on the screen.

If I purchase a Surface Pro, do I get to use the same version of Adobe Illustrator Creative Cloud that I have on my Desktop? My decision to buy a Surface Pro would depend on being able to 'carry my studio' with me.

I have CS 4 and I wish I upgraded, but it always worked well for me. I tried downloading to my new surface pro, and then I uninstalled it, it was really small and didn't seem to work that well with the pencil. Is it possible? or should I look for something else to make vectors with?

I'm not going to lie when I started school back up to finish my masters in GAD I was super excited to get to use AI as all I ever used in 2005 as a high school senior was photoshop. and as a surface pro 6 user its trash. when I draw it has a HORRIBLE lag and then it makes these weird straight lines when I tried to draw a circle. or ill make a 2-centimeter line but it makes it extend way off the whole works better if I use my finger, but wth is going to use their finger to have used Krita now for a few years and its SO much better I feel, the biggest downside now though is u cant save stuff as vectors anymore(why they took that out in the updates idk...) so I'm stuck trying to use AI because I need to save things as vectors but I absolutely cant and don't like drawing on my MacBook pro with a damn

If Windows INK wants to compete on the same level as the Ipad Pro with Pencil (and I hope it can)... it needs to have the same characteristics (or better) than the Apple Pencil. And, by that I mean, it will need to have the ability to draw like an actual graphite pencil by using the side of the pen/pencil as part of the stroke. It needs to have the ability to track as smoothly (no lag) and have the appearance of blending and the stroke control of a REAL pencil (or even charcoal/pastel).

If Windows INK can't make these sort of key graphite/charcoal drawing capabilities a reality like the Apple product has achieved... Windows Ink will still be considered second best and considered an ILLUSTRATIVE (ONLY) artist tool. Until then, I will continue to use my Ipad Pro with ProCreate combo for ALL types of drawing methods (not just illustrative art). As best I can tell, the Windows Ink is a one trick pony and can only draw the much more simplistic ink related art that is seen in comic-like or illustrative type art. Perhaps, someone can indicate otherwise....
