I can't be the only one here who doesn't have the money for any of this PC stuff but watches all these videos anyway, right?

Optane is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm a photographer and videographer. Works perfectly as expected.

Video sponsored by Seagate and he still goes ahead and trashes their High-capacity HDD! That’s honesty to the max! Subbed!

i definitely recommend getting an Intel optane drive, boot times and opening up applications are much much faster!

Buy a 128gb ssd, make it the boot drive, allocate 64gb (or however much you want) as cache and boom, no money wasted on shitty optane.

Did you change something with the mic setup? Seems different...

The latest version of Windows 10 includes a utility for converting MBR installations to GPT (so that you can enable UEFI and still have the system boot) called MBR2GPT. This way you don't have to reinstall Windows to use Optane.

so if you had optain and a ssd would it add the data used by the mechanical hdd so that you have the speed of an ssd with optain still boosting the hdd? so utilising all three storage types for the best results?

I installed Optane on my computer about 6 months ago. It was the biggest hassle I’ve ever had to deal with. It took around 2 days to configure everything. The reason for this is Asrock (the maker of my mother board) makes it so that only a 2 or 3 of the 6 SATA ports on the mother board support Optane. So it was the matter of just changing what port my hard drive was plugged into.

If you’re having trouble with installing Optane, and you’ve followed each step, trying simply changing the port your hard drive is plugged into

Took the Optane out of the m.2 slot (replacing it with a 970 Pro) of my Aurora R7. Put Optane in a pci adapter/slot. Formatted it, and it shows available, but, is it working? How do I know?

This is a great option. I have invested in a 1TB SSD to use as a game drive... I float around to many different games from many different clients - Steam, Origin, Oculus, Battle.net, etc... So I have filled my SSD and only have a small portion of my games downloaded... Buying an SSD to house all of this would be twice as much as this option. I for one am a fan of this and have bought into it - just came in the mail today!!. Looking forward to setting this up and getting the rest of my games primed and ready!

I'm certainly not a techy, but I thought I'd tell you that I recently bought an Alienware R6 with Optane memory. It has all the good stuff, a 2 TB hard drive, an i7-7700 liquid cooled cpu and Intel 1080 video card, etc. And so far, it appears to be everything I want or need. It functions beautifully in that it boots quickly and loads my regularly used programs at what seems to be an ever quicker pace each time I use them. Of course, it is still extremely new for me so this may just be my imagination, but I do love my new system! Thank you so much for your channel as you've answered many of my questions and taught me a lot, all while being very entertaining to boot... pun intended.

I've had optane for about a month and would say the speed boost is very useful. My windows boots way faster than before and steam launches immediately for me now
