It's important to note that the Washington Post editorial board had already drafted an endorsement of Harris and sent it around internally for review. Jeff Bezos stopped it from being published, so this was a unilateral decision by the paper's billionaire owner.

Too many billionaires who got their fortunes on the backs of hard-working US taxpayers are acting directly and openly against the interests of the country. I hope Kamala Harris will prove to be a president in the FDR mold and pass a progressive tax that caps net worth at a billion dollars, and puts those proceeds into a universal basic income and Medicare for all. And take the necessary steps to protect and fund social security for the long term by raising the FICA income cap.
