Ancient Greek homosexuality was based on whether you where a "top" or "bottom." It was a straight, masculine thing to be a "top, " but never a bottom! That made you womanly. Thats also why lesbian relationships where looked down upon. It meant a woman had to be a "top" or in the Man's place.

Juuust a little nitpicking here: one of the most commonly accepted reasons for why the Sacred Band was so effective in battle is the type of shield. The shield only covered half of the wearer body, and the other half was covered by the guy next to him. In ancient warfare the formation was everything, once someone backed up, everybody backed up, because they weren't covered anymore. So, if your beloved is right beside you, you can't run, not only because it's is disgraceful, but because you may be condemning him to death. Great vid!
