A round insert is the strongest because of the radius. The larger the radius the more it can handle the interruptions. It also pulls a little more power depending on the depth of engagement!

I've used radius cutters on interrupted cuts for many years, they certainly seem to cope much better, and last much longer than a cnmg or similar.

Round inserts work great on smaller diameters where you have higher rpm. On big part, slower speed it's difficult to break the chip.

Thats stainless and that is some serious freaking load on the spindle you can hear it struggle to maintain speed yet the tool isnt chattering or getting smoked that’s impressive.
