I don’t do any scrapping although I came across your video and I found it interesting how organized you are with each individual product, I think for those who are just beginning scrapping this video is very entertaining showing Those who also scrap that being organized is extremely helpful, thank you.

Personally I strip all my wire. And break down transformers. I found a HUGE difference in what I was making. The obvious downside is time spent. Also, nobody in my area buys unprocessed e-waste. I like how specific you loads are. I wish I could get paid for "copper bearing". Keep up the good work.

i used to work in a scrapyard. i used to see old old guys bring in huge pickle jars full of brass consisting of the clips from the wiring. then the snipping cut with the pieces joined the brass and wire crimp seperate. i tried it for fun with my wiring and it took a long time to fill the bottom of a small pickle jar and that was cleaning everything.

great video eric i have the same wire stripper i find its only worth stripping if theres 50% or more copper than insulation but every yard is different i love the way you incorporate scrapping, scrap yard runs and ebay sales into your videos your channel is certainly the best scrapping channel on youtube in my opinion, keep up the good work i certainly appreciate the time you put in to these videos

Eric...put those core and coil transformers on a solid surface and hit the steel core with a baby sledge. It takes me only a minute or two to separate the Copper coil from the steel. Just look for the welds, that's where you hit it. Well worth the effort!

I use a hammer and chisel to open those solenoids, the ones I have found were soft and dont smash open but I put em in my vise and tapped the chisel down each side, only took a minute.

You might want to make a dumpster FISHING POLE. Take an old broom or shovel handle & screw a hook into it. Brace it up with a clamp or two. Bring a small stepladder or milk crate with you to improve your reach. How much your bin weighs is called TARE WEIGHT. Get some mechanic's gloves for pulling wire, and you'll get a LOT fewer blisters.

ive had those walls before, older ones, they were all padded steel, lots of good weight, but no, i got a bunch of printers in the first load.

To strip or not to strip is based off the yard you are selling to. In some places you get a higher price on insulated wire as they pay less but you get the weight of the insulation included so check bare vs insulated weights and prices to figure out is it worth stripping.

Hello from northern Sweden, new subscriber and follow on twitter.
Great videos and I have nothing but respect for you going full time scrapping.
I do scrapping myself mostly as theraputic escapism, haven't got in to ebay yet but I will after seeing what sells for almost redicilous money as you have shown.
Good thing you show in the videos what sold and where it's going.
By the way, , , can't fault Barry Manilow.

Man you miss a lot of copper in those transformers and other small motors, just smack it with a hammer on the tack weld than use the steel that comes off to punch the rest of the steel off once you place the copper on two blocks or anything

you dont take apart your motors? some motors are not worth the time. it takes some practice and a bit of tips and tricks help, its usually worth it. the newer fans are mostly aluminum, waste of time so i usually stick a steak knife and scrape the part i can get to see if its aluminum or copper. the copper ones i keep to clean when i have a few, the aluminum ones i sell whole.
