Did a quick trip on the Legend sport fishing boat and was able to catch a bluefin tuna. Smaller quality grade bluefin tuna, super fun to catch, and still very tasty. Of course I brought the good ol lucky bass rod :) . Made this catch and cook video for you guys, as a lot of people requested such a video series.

let me know what you think about this video :)

I want to say thanks to

That looks tasty!!! Landing that BFT on swimbait gear is nuts but you handled it like a pro! Looks like I need to go on a tuna run up the list of ingredients, I want to do the same for my seared tuna.
Thanks Rodney!!!!

MAN, I like that step on the rail there, great to kneel and use your armpit for big ones or if just worn out fishing tuna! Nice Bluefin on the Bass Rod!

You are the best San Diego fisherman ever, I live here and catch spotted bass, mackerel and a lot of yellow fin Croaker. But my favorite to catch are sand sharks, shovel nose and sand bass because the put up a great fight, anyway nice vid I subbed. KeepCatching🙃🙃🙃

Wow that's a very nice catch. You really fought for it and made the sport really exciting. And the reward was a very delicious meal. Plus sinagang for later... Congrats bro.

Seared/AKA blackened tuna is the BEST! Try big Yellowfin too, I love their meat too, blackened or smoked, I get sturgeon where I live and try to do half tuna/half sturgeon for my friends and fishing out in my boat, nothing says love like smoked tuna and sturgeon!

Looks fire 🔥🔥🔥 I’m going to make some seared tuna tonight, had some last week raw with cilantro, jalapeño, black pepper, and soy sauce with wasabi.

Great vid Rodney! That tuna dish looks so yummy. I have that same reel but not the same type of handle. What are the specs for the fishing rod you are using in this video?
Thanks!

Thanks Rodney!

Which boat were you on? I just got a couple of my own Tuna last week. 1 big blue...1 decent Yellow.

How is your reel holding up after those tunas? I have the same exact reel and I would never think of using it for tuna, especially bluefin. It is a beast of a reel tho.

Another rad video my dude! Love the cook part at the end. My favorite part of fishing and hunting is being able to bring food home and share it with family. How much does it cost to do a fishing trip like that? Always wanted to try a charter boat but I hear they can be pricey.
