I’m an Australian and this is my second - hand truck and it’s AMAZING. It can easily go through anything and really tough. 10/10.

They do have a purpose here in Australia because they are a better tow vehicle than Land Cruiser.

' No real purpose in Australia ' are you kidding, the school run is vital for many and simply parking in the driveway is enough to impress the neighbours.

A friend bought one of these before Christmas and the AC didn't work! Top-notch quality control!

I do not think you are alone on loving those big rigs Paul. They have presence in spades. Good review.

The lamp in the mirror is a spot light :D

Also, dont worry about the safety features, remember you're the one in the 2.4 ton truck ;)

Absolutely would buy one, as a matter of fact we are waiting on delivery of ours. Ideal for towing, which is what we intend using it for. A bit bigger exhaust and another 2 inches of lift. Is what we’ll be doing. Great review mate.

Love the interior room on these big American utes, fit 3 of your fattest mates across the back seat in comfort. Plus have decent size engines too! Not like the typical utes we get that rock 2 Litre motors 🤦‍♂️

I went halfway through the video thinking this was a Colorado. But when he got to the backseat and had so much space I was like "hol up a minute"

Love your review on the Silverado 1500. In my opinion you are the best auto reviewer in Australia. I look forward to you reviewing the Ford F150 when, and if when, an F150 is converted to RHD backed by Ford. Keep up the great reviews.

I do own one . I love it !!!! When you do 0-100 km/h engage awd system it will go around 6 seconds mark. Consumption on highway is around 10 l/ 100, around suburbs does 15 l on average, pretty good for the size of the engine and truck. I had a diesel ranger before and it was around 13 l/ 100 . You do need to use 95 octane petrol or higher. Don’t mind the all safety future’s missing as I m not gone use them anyway. Price is around 125000 Aud drive away for Trailboss and around 140000 Aud for LTZ spec . Beautiful truck all around!!!!

Keep the reviews coming on these American converted cars.

I’m a recent petrol convert. I’ve had to many issues with diesels - dpf mainly as I mostly drive around town. This’d suit me to a tee. Good review by the way!

Very interesting truck. Rare to see a review from another country than the USA. Fits perfectly in Australia.

As others have suggested, this is a genuine 4x4, but you MUST select either 4H or 4L to lock the transfer case (centre diff lock) into 50% drive fore and aft. Shame you didn't do a 4wd surface test in a 4wd mode. Auto is not dedicated drive to all axles, it's proportional thru a open centre diff, good for loose surface on formed roads/tracks only.
As for the light in the mirror, is that not just a clearance light for incoming vehicles at night, a requirement by law for vehicles over a particular width, a category this vehicle would have to comply with.
For all that say too expensive, compared to 79 series Cruiser, it is actually cheaper, far superior ride, better fitout, and compliant to drive tow with etc. Yes there will be a majority of people say they'd chose a cruiser anyway over this, all I can say, their loss. The 70 Series are farm trucks, designed as such, these US trucks are comfortable tourers/tow vehicles, class leaders in this category.
Aussies need to get used to this type of vehicles becoming more dominate on our roads as more cashed up tourists take to vanning it in Oz opposed to international touring.
Looking forward to the day these things hit the second hand market in mass numbers lowering the price for more humble desiree's like me.

2022 ZR2 version - front and rear manual lockers, more ground clearance and better shocks, better approach, departure, and breakover, and more underbody protection! Probably add another $30k here of course.

Beautiful truck for the price. Never cared about lane keep assist or any other aides. Has everything you need as a tow vehicle.

Great review overall. Keep in mind though that pressing the 4 hi button locks the centre diff. The auto mode is an on road traction aid, not an off road mode.
