I live in colorado and I got evicted because my health failed. I lost one of my jobs and just couldn’t afford where I lived. I even tried my hardest to negotiate with them and they wouldn’t work with me. Now I’m living in my car/ motel and I just don’t know what to do. I will keep on trying

You don’t need to go to court to get a tenant screening company to remove information because they don’t have your permission to have that info so they must remove in 30 days.

I was evicted during the pandemic. I make more than enough to pay my bills and afford a apartment. I am sleeping in my car because I want to live on my own. When I was evicted I was in the process of trying to get my driver's license restored and when I was evicted I got thrown in jail for a weed DUI now I am facing charges and am being forced to go back to jail again to finish my time. This is horrible

There are several property management opportunities that communities have in place, now that the moratorium has come to an end, for people in these exact situations. I would also like to point out that the moratorium has left private landlords as the hardest to sell on past evictions. They took the biggest losses, and have very likely no way to recoup them, unlike larger corporations that have the legal funds and professionals to retrieve monetary losses from prior tenants. Not hiding from evictions (or trying to find a work around for them) is the best resolve. In all reality, paying off any debt owed and getting the landlord from the prior eviction to help remove it from your record is the best recourse for long term satisfaction for both parties. Also, the example of having a pet resume to present to a future landlord, for being evicted for those terms from a previous landlord, is a mute point. The new landlord may actually allow the pet your prior landlord didn't, but will see the tenant was blatantly disrespecting the terms of the lease (of which the new landlord will in fact have concern over their lease terms). Lastly, in many states it is not legal for any amount of the "deposit" (monies handed over at the beginning of a lease term to cover damages wether monetary or physical property damage) to be touched until the end of the tenancy. At which time the lease has ended or come into default and an eviction is court ordered. With courts backed up still from the moratorium, it is about a four month process, well over the amount of any requested deposit, and not including any repairs needed. It is possible to correct your record and no longer appear as a risk. You have to do some homework and invest some time and money, but you can get to that point where you look like the best new tenant a landlord could hope for.

What if you get evicted, but then pay off completely the amount of rent that was due ?

How do you see if a eviction is on your record? It doesn’t show up on my credit report but I have no idea of when I do a application for a apartment, if the eviction will show. I don’t even know if it was filled by my old apartment landlord. Anyway I can look up my name and see for myself if o have an eviction?

Me and my family are being evicted because the landlord wanted to sell the place. She told us move but didn't give us a deadline. We tried to contact her but she won't answer. She gave us a year. She has threatened us with stuff like this before. We always pay on time. She filed a 30 day notice and we have been packing up since. Are we in the wrong or is she?

Hi! Thank you for making this video, I was evicted in 2021 after allowing my family to stay with me due to loosing their home during covid. The debt has been on my record since and i do plan to pay it but i am a full-time student so it is a little difficult. I am trying to get my own apartment this year and NOT let anyone stay with me. Is there anything that you could suggest I do for my particular situation?

If you just can’t afford to pay rent or you are about to get evicted for being a nuisance to others, try to negotiate with your landlord and leave. It is not worth it (nor decent) trying to take advantage of the system to later spend so much time and money to clear your record.

Thank you, bro, what if you have a slum lord and you have problems like cockroaches from other renters and haven't been paying due to the neglect of a tenant. we've been having these issues for awhile.

See, I knew when the pandemic was happening, this was gonna happen. What the government should’ve done was just pay the landlord rent so that the tenant wouldn’t have to face eviction and could get back on their feet because you can’t expect a tenant to make up for back rent for months…
