If you are feeling uncomfortable within the church, and you're either being discouraged from asking the questions you need to ask, or are being given answers that don't square with your experience or logic, be assured that there are people out there who can help.

It's worth looking for people who won't try to force their own answers on you, but instead encourage you to ask your questions and freely research the answers anywhere you choose to look.

The headspace to do your own thinking without the weight of your church's expectation crushing down on you is a valuable thing, and it's something you may need to work hard to give yourself.

Religions have been working for thousands of years, on techniques for causing pain to those who try to leave or even question them, so it's clear that the process of questioning can be uncomfortable.

However, whatever you're told on this site, belief in gods is not necessary for an ethical life, and if you're starting to question what you've been sold by religion, good luck!

So many possibilities about where and how to live what GOD gives - the LOVE HE shows every day.
I could be too liberal here: but though there are physical ways of looking at what Paul speaks about in The Body of Christ. It also has Spiritual applications. A body not confined in buildings made with hands. Give to those who cannot give you anything back. Some Churches operate dysfunctionally on manipulations and Tie Downs. Those engaging in behaviours not of the Spirit of Christ or his Father, will not see you as one of them necessarily. GOD is your Comforter and strength, HE will guide your steps always.
Religion speaks more to what denomination you are in, and it’s doctrines.
Those have a part, it is more about the living and learning how to fulfil the 2 first
Commandments:
Loving GOD in and through ALL HE has given us and our neighbour too, as we love our own selves.
Faith will come alive when it is personal to daily living.
When being HIS child, teaches you, how contrary to HIS steady character you can be, yet HE loves you with an everlasting love.

King David, you ARE the rich man that killed your neighbor for his lamb.

And David repented.

Nathan went to the king, risking his own neck in the process, and confronted him about his crimes. It's a great story, and a good example on how it's done, telling a made up story to David so that he would give his real opinion before knowing that he was the villain of the story. I'm not suggesting such an extreme, unless it's warranted. But it made David aware, by his own lips, that his actions were worthy of death. As a result, he was immediately aware that his sin was not hidden from God. But, even more, it pained David that he had grieved God.
