Hello flight Simmers, and welcome back to Alpha Hotel flight simulation. In this video we'll be looking at instrument failures in glass cockpit equipped aircraft - specifically in the Garmin G1000 equipped Cessna 172. We'll talk about what kind of failures can happen, what they look like, how to safely deal with them, and what failures we can replicate in MSFS (which, sadly, is not much...)

A great workaround for AHRS failure is to pull up a checklist window and position it so it obscures the majority of your PFD, specially your attitude indicator. I haven't found a way to cover the heading indicator while still leaving the CDI visible, but it's a decent substitute for an actual AHRS failure.
