Right now, I do not trust this feature because it is spouting misinformation as of late. I do not care if AI makes mistakes, but Google should've handled this situation before releasing it.

I turned off AI overviews even before it started giving completely incorrect information and yet it still shows up. Google is forcing misinformation.

AI overview in Google search is experimental folks. To develop and improve it Google needs your interactions like your feedbacks, thumbs up and thumbs down. This is one of the many ways Google evaluates and improves the quality of the results.

Personally I love it, I get the website traffic concerns but it's part of the growing pains of the AI revolution. I frequently use it because it's a much safer way to search the web. I cringe every time I go to a website and it's potentially riddled with harmful ads.

It's been getting better and better but it isn't perfect. I think everyone's expectations are a little high but I do think Google needs to continue working on AI Overviews.
