8 years since the original upload and this song hits me differently than it did years ago and I guess it’s because I’ve experienced so much pain and heartbreak since I first heard it. It really goes to show how much you understand after you’ve experienced something for yourself. I recently started coming back to this song because it felt hauntingly beautiful and then after listening again and again the more I realized how much I’ve grown, where I am now, and compared certain feelings from the lyrics and the simple yet complex melody. While I’m not there yet, it helps me focus on the type of music I want to make as a producer. I want to have fun making it. I want to make something haunting, mysterious, and powerful like this. While trying new things is fun and I still have no idea what I’m doing, I know where I want to go. I guess I have some more songs to make in relevance to my past. I still have so much that I have yet to let go and if my songs can help me do that, then hopefully I’ve mastered my craft and will become the me I’ve always wanted to be. Hopefully from there I can be happier with my own voice as well.
