Stark: *appears*

Me: I don't know who you are, but you're my new favorite character

You can truly tell Cregan is a Stark. Honorable, dutiful, just, very direct and doesn't tolerate deceit, etc.

A man barely appeared for 3 minutes and yet becomes everyones favorite

You can tell Cregan really believes the stories, Ned dismissed the stories. It's a great contrast.

Benjicot Blackwood - "Half your men will die, Lord Stark"

Cregan Stark - "They died the day we marched, boy"

The line "Do you think my ancestors built a 700 foot wall of ice to keep out snow and savages?" really hits home. If humans generations and generations before you all came together and built something like... they probably didn't do it for no good reason. There was definitely something horrifying north of the wall. Strange how characters seem to dismiss it. I understood that's intentional, for dramatic purposes from a writing perspective. But still. That line was perfect.

I love that they're really laying on the Yorkshire-sounding accent with Cregan. Really drives home the fantasy northmen theme.

Cregan walking around with Ice on his back and giving the prince a tour of the wall was damn satisfying to watch!!

“Half your men will die, my lord”
“They died the day they marched south, boy.”
- The wolf, Cregan Stark

I’m so fascinated by the fact that Sean Bean made the entire north have a Yorkshire accent. Kit Harrington and Maisie Williams both commented on changing their accents to replicate his and it’s apparently stuck with Tom Taylor as well.
Just a cool fact and excellent continuity from the showrunners.

The Queen sent her eldest son to Cregan Stark assuming they would bond over their youth. Jace ended up meeting the Grim, Mature and Just Wolf who became a man at 16 when his own Uncle and 3 cousins tried to take the North from him. Cregan also lost his wife a year prior to the Dance of the Dragons. Thats why he is the way he is. Being betrayed by his blood and losing his love all by the age of 21.

Cregan really valued honor and loyalty, It showed in this scene

Love Cregan Stark, while stoic, he has a good heart and an underlying warmth, with a friendliness to Jaecerys. They actually seem like they could be buddies.

The White Walkers theme playing. They may not be in the House of the Dragon, but you can definitely feel their presence.

It felt so good to be back home at Winterfell. The opening scene was just emotional and it was so wonderful to see Lord Cregan carrying the Stark ancestry sword Ice. And this scene was super nostalgic.

You have to admire how good Jace is at being a diplomat and negotiator. He's so good at being a prince. He managed to get two houses on his side during his travels.

What is it about the Starks that just makes them immediately likeable? Even when he's the great, great, great, great granddaddy of the Starks we know and love in Game of Thrones, he just oozes that familiar warm (and cold) Stark energy. Exceptional job by the actor.

I like that they pointed out that Jaehaerys and Alysanne's dragons refused to cross the wall even though for some reason Daenerys' dragons did cross it.
I guess they're pretending the last couple of seasons of GOT don't exist as much as we are.

The scene is not even 3 minutes long and I’m already sold on Tom Taylor as Cregan. He’s going to do a brilliant job

This may be House of the Dragon but “the North remembers.”
